Keno Explained and Explored
"Why should I should I play Keno?"
Why Play Keno:
The answer to this question is simply that Keno offers you a good
chance of winning and an excellent payout structure. Keno offers
the possibility of winning a tremendous return on a small bet. Keno
is one of the easiest games to play and it can provide a good value
on a relatively limited budget. Keno is played in a very similar way
to most lottery games except that the key difference is that Keno is
one-on-one play against the house. In contrast, the Lottery is a group
of players against the House, which must share any winnings paid out...
Keno History:
The history of Keno is quite interesting, as the story goes, Keno was
developed by Cheung Leung, in China, around 200 BC. The people of Cheung
Leung's city refused to offer any more funds towards a failing war effort.
In response Cheung Leung offered people the opportunity to play Keno, or
The White Pigeon game, to generate revenues for his army. The game became
a rapid success and the popularity of the game quickly spread across China.
Eventually, the game became so large that game results were flown to
distant locations by carrier pigeon. The funds generated from Keno eventually
helped to build a large portion of the Great Wall...
Keno Strategy:
If you are interested in playing Keno you have a few choices on where you
can place your bets. The locations that offer Keno fall into one of three
categories: State run games (the type that would be found in bars and
restaurants), Keno lounges (these include brick-and-mortar casinos and
Keno parlors), and Video Keno (this includes video poker style machines
and games available through the Internet). The best place for most people
to play is probably online. The payout percentages for online Keno gaming
(90%) are on average, almost double the payout percentages of state run
Keno games (50%)...
To play the game, the player chooses numbers from a game card that will be
their "picks". The number of picks allowed on a Keno card usually ranges from
1 to 15 depending on house rules. The payout for Keno is determined by the
number of "catches" or correct "picks" the player has selected from a randomly
drawn set of numbers. The numbers are usually drawn using some sort of
ping-pong ball setup...
